Left: BMW added 2 limited editions for the year 1980.  One was the limited edition R100S "Exclusive Sport," in metallic silver with triple-tone blue stripping on the fairing, fuel tank, and seat tail-piece. This limited edition also included chrome shock absorber springs and polished fork legs, rocker covers, and final drive housing. Its rear fender and side covers were silver with "R100S" decals. The cast wheels were also a matching light silver. Price for a new "Exclusive Sport" in 1980 was $6,595 (USD).

 I have also heard that the 1980 BMW R100S Exclusive Sport aka "The Airliner" was built to commemorate an anniversary of one of the German Airlines. I believe the Airline was Luftansa. The bike was nicknamed the Airliner and is extremely rare. Kevin Brown
